How far is the mine to the Hunter Valley vineyards?
The vineyards are less than an hour’s drive from HVO.
What housing options are available if I worked at HVO?
Muswellbrook (population approx. 20,500) and Singleton (population approx. 4,800) are an easy 25 minute’s commute. You may choose to live in the surrounding Hunter Valley area or even near the beach, at Newcastle (population approx. 175,000) at an hour and 45 minutes away.
How many people work for HVO?
Approximately 1,500 people.
What is the life expectancy of the mine?
HVO is seeking approval to continue mining the HVO North mine until 2050 (from 2025) and HVO South mine until 2045 (from 2030).
